Artisan Story

NAA Design is a family run company, that is committed to empowering local craftsmen. The founders, French designer Laudine Dubeaux and Arnut Saento a former Thai poetry writer and longtime social and political publication editor, are a passionate duo who's wood and ceramic homeware is crafted only using sustainable, recyclable and reusable materials.

The inspiration behind the company's distinct name came from a beautiful linguistic fusion. The French word "naa" is a somewhat cheeky and sassy word whereas in Thai "naa" is a word that invites action. Both translations are enthusiastic and lively which reflects the company's guiding ethos.

The NAA Design team believe in direct contact between the designers and the craftsmen to ensure harmony and quality from the beginning to the end of the process. Each piece is unique, just like every tree is unique. The modern and quirky TOTEMS are made from recycled pillars from old houses and the MAÏ coffee cups are crafted from teak wood sourced from ethical plantations – each item has its own story to tell.
