A passionate master of her craft, Mrs. Phat enjoys challenging herself to continually improve the patterns she weaves into her products in Phonsay Village outside of Luang Prabang, Laos.
Devoted to preserving the Lao culture, Mrs. Phat encourages other Lao women to learn, practice and embrace the art of weaving as a guiding light for doing so. She believes her products are the best way to share the gift of the Lao heritage with others, including international customers who can share them with friends and family.
Mrs. Phat is part of a weaver collective that creates economic opportunities for rurally located artisans in 13 Laos provinces. By working with weavers to develop handicrafts that combine craftsmanship and tradition with artistic creativity and design, the collective helps create thriving village enterprises. 10% of each purchase made through Local Bazaar for a product of Mrs. Phat’s will contribute to the support of healthier and more sustainable communities through environmental, educational and health care-related improvements.
